This type of chair known as Carré Sunburst, French button, Pinwheel or just Spring Steel Chair originated in Paris, France, made by Felix Carré sometime in the1850s. In 1865 these chairs were described in a guidebook as "a real revolution". They were in continuous production through 1960.
 
Good Condition, Original Condition Unaltered, Some Imperfections including rust / paint loss.
Surprisingly comfortable due to the masterful spring design.
